Lisbon’s renowned Carlos Lopes Structure played host to over 5,000 participants at the 3rd edition of the NFC Top, for an “immersive program on digital culture” taking in art, style, video gaming, movie and beach celebrations.
Over 260 speakers collected to talk about subjects varying from Bitcoin Ordinals to meme tokens, with artists and characters from the NFT area consisting of Beeple, Deekaymotion, Claire Silver, Punk6529 and Patrick Amadon discussing their work.
” I discover it truly interesting, I believe we’re going through something of a photographic renaissance,” stated conceptual artist Kevin Abosch, in a talk on “post-human modernism.”
Abosch discussed his current task “Civics,” a series of AI-generated “artificial images” portraying demonstration and civil disobedience. “Do not speak to me about how truthful ‘genuine’ photography is, it can be more deceitful than anything,” he stated, arguing that photographic topics are “cognizant” of the existence of video cameras. “And alternatively, an artificial picture can be imbued with more sincerity than you can get in a conventional picture.”
The inaugural AIFA Awards, held as part of NFC Lisbon, acknowledged the work of AI filmmakers. The AImagine Award for Best Movie was won by “Denny the Shark,” produced by collective duo Ethereal Moon, comprised of Tune Bossan (aka LeMoon) and Dina Lockamy (aka Ethereal Gwirl).
” We’re attempting to show this concept that the emerging innovation opens the field on a worldwide scale,” AI Movie Academy co-founder Leo Crane informed Decrypt He argued that the awards display the capability of AI to empower developers, allowing them to, “truly take on multimillion dollar movies in such a way that’s simply not been possible previously.”
NFC Top likewise saw the 2nd edition of the ABS Digital Art Reward, granted to French artist RVig’s piece “Les Fleurs du Mal.” The art work reinterprets the poetry of Charles Baudelaire’s poetry as a series of ribbons that “progress and stream according to the structure of the poetry.”
” Art is constantly developing,” stated RVig upon getting the reward. “Today, digital and NFT art still deals with apprehension. However in my modest viewpoint, we can all be influenced by Charles Baudelaire– let’s push borders.”
